Interwell UK achieves Healthy Working Lives Award
Healthy Working Lives aims to encourage safer and healthier workplaces, decreased sickness absence, and improved motivation and productivity of individuals.
Working towards the award over 2014, Interwell addressed the health, safety and wellbeing needs in the organisation, implemented a smoking policy over and above the legislative requirements which encouraged employees to quit, and raised awareness of mental health in the workplace.
All employees were offered a health assessment to measure blood glucose, BMI, waist to hip ratio, cholesterol and body composition. The findings showed the areas of most concern which Interwell turned into information campaigns to raise awareness and promote healthier living.
The company also ran a summer health campaign focusing on skin protection, dehydration and heat stroke, and a winter driving campaign, presented by Police Scotland.
Interwell will now work towards the silver award in 2015.
